Regional Talent Showcase
We Love Local Talent
When we started planning SummerFEST 2024 we had two major goals in mind: more local artist involvement, and a free show for the community. Thus, Haystack Jams was born.
Over the last few weeks artists from across the region have applied to be part of Haystack Jams. Our selection committee worked diligently to select the six artists below as the finalists.
These six will take the stage on June 13 and the audience favourites from this show will be invited back to open for Maximum Overdrive and The Artificially Hip.
Make sure to come out and show your support so that your favourites can get the recognition they deserve!
Rewarding Local Artists
Free isn’t free, and although attendance doesn’t cost anything for the audience, we believe in supporting local artists. In addition to feeling the love from the SummerFEST audience, all Haystack Jams performers will receive:
- A (modest) booking fee for their performance
- Free weekend pass for all performing members
- Another booking fee upon being booked for Friday or Saturday night
Balysto Steelband
Balysto is a high energy Caribbean-style steel band with 20+ pannists and percussionists performing calypso, reggae, pop, soul, disco, retro rock & roll and Latin music, with everything in between.
Ceeb Dread
Ceeb Dread has been holding down Fredericton, New Brunswick for more than twenty years. No other rapper embodies hip-hop the same way Ceeb does. His entire being is dedicated to his craft of MCing and rocking the mic.
Jacob Chevarie
Hey, my name is Jacob. I’m 17 years old from Darlings Island, New Brunswick. I’m living the farm life and always have a soundtrack of classic country tunes keeping me company. I love the diverse stories that music tells. From the moment I picked up the guitar, I felt inspired to perform and share my love of music and story telling with everyone I can.
Richie Young
Hailing from Fredericton New Brunswick Richie Young has been on the music scene since 2015. His music is an original take on the classic rock sound. With his one man band set up consisting of vocals, electric guitar, harmonica, bass drum, and a handmade foot snare drum.
Youth Nation
Youth Nation is a pop music duo with over 10 years of experience including a catalog of 100+ original songs and years of live performances ranging from New Brunswick to Toronto.
Zack Ingles
Hailing from the Kennebecasis Valley of New Brunswick, Canada and with songwriting that draws from both classic folk and modern pop influences, Zack Ingles’ soulful storytelling has garnered rave reviews from fans and critics across the maritimes.
